The Green Test Drives will open a window to the « road of tomorrow ». The centre for test driving on a road can be found at the entrance to the former Automobile Museum under Hall 7. You can get there by a passageway from Hall 5, via the outside elevator from Hall 6, or by the door at the exit from Hall 7.
A number of interesting and exclusive vehicles will be available to look over and to take for a short drive.
Opel HydroGen4
Opel invites the public to have a look at inner workings of the HydroGen4 and its unique energy cell in the Green Pavilion. This model can also be tested at the Green Test Drives. Inscriptions can be made between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. at the Opel stand in the Green Pavilion, or –depending on availability - directly at the Green Test Drives centre.
Mitsubishi i MieV
The Mitsubishi i MieV was named Car of the Year 2009-2010. This ecological car contains a whole series of technological innovations, notably its lithium batteries with an extremely high capacity (16 KWh) and a high performance electric motor with 63 horsepower (47kW) and 180 Nm of torque. Inscriptions for a test of this car can be made at the e’mobile stand in Hall 5.
Lampo1 from Protoscar
Protoscar presented their Lampo 1 as a prototype at the Geneva International Motor Show in 2009. This year, the Lampo 2 can be seen on the e’mobile stand as on of the Show’s World Premiers. Visitors can drive the Lampo 1 at the Green Test Drives. Inscriptions can be made at the e’mobile stand in Hall 5.
Chevrolet Volt
The Chevrolet Volt is an electric car with an extendable driving range. In the purely electric mode, the car has a range of 64 kilometres, which is usually sufficient for daily use around town. Thanks to its additional small combustion engine which charges the batteries, the range can be considerably extended. This unique automobile can be seen on the Chevrolet stand in Hall 1, and test drives will be organised with another model which contains the same technology.
